West Course
La Manga West Course
Take on La Manga Club’s most scenic and strategic course, set among pine woodland and rolling hills.
A technical layout with narrow fairways, natural ravines and unforgettable resort views.
Overview
The West Course at La Manga Club offers a more technical and scenic round, with narrow fairways, natural ravines and regular changes in elevation. Set among pine woodland and rolling hills, it provides a very different experience from the North and South Courses, making it a strong choice for golfers who enjoy strategy, accuracy and impressive views.
Course Details
Located in La Manga, Murcia, the West Course measures 6,328 yards with a par of 71. Designed by Dave Thomas, the course follows the natural shape of the land and uses the surrounding landscape to create a varied and challenging layout. It is not the longest course at La Manga Club, but it requires careful shot selection and good course management from start to finish.
Course Highlights
The West Course is known for its tight fairways, fast greens, natural barrancas and elevated positions. The front nine is the more demanding section, with narrow landing areas and ravines placing a strong focus on accuracy from the tee. The back nine opens up slightly as it moves into the hills, but uneven lies, blind shots and elevation changes keep the challenge high.
The par 3 holes are a major feature of the course, offering a strong mix of beauty and difficulty. Rather than relying on length, the West Course rewards golfers who can control their ball and think carefully about each shot.
One of the most memorable holes is the 18th, a par 4 played from an elevated tee. From here, golfers can enjoy outstanding views across La Manga Club, the surrounding countryside and towards the sea before playing a demanding final approach to a protected green.
Practice Facilities
Golfers playing the West Course can use La Manga Club’s shared practice facilities, including practice areas designed to help players prepare before their round. These facilities are ideal for warming up, improving short-game control and building confidence before taking on the course’s more technical layout.
Clubhouse & Facilities
Players have access to La Manga Club’s wider golf facilities, including clubhouse services, practice areas and resort amenities. The Grand Hyatt La Manga Club & Resort also provides a selection of restaurants, bars, leisure facilities and high-quality accommodation, making the West Course easy to include as part of a complete golf holiday.
Location
The West Course is located within La Manga Club in Murcia, Spain, in a peaceful and scenic part of the resort. Its hillside setting offers wide views across the resort, nearby countryside and coastline, creating one of the most attractive golf settings in the region.
Why Play Here
The West Course is ideal for golfers who want a more tactical and visually striking round at La Manga Club. Its narrow fairways, natural hazards and changing elevations make it a rewarding test of accuracy rather than power. For golf groups and holiday golfers looking to experience all three La Manga courses, the West Course adds variety, character and memorable scenery to the itinerary.
