Overview

PGA National, Aphrodite Hills is an 18-hole championship golf course at Aphrodite Hills Resort in Cyprus. Designed by Cabell Robinson and opened in 2002, the course spans 6,289 metres in a natural Mediterranean setting.

The course occupies two plateaux separated by a ravine. Olive and carob trees line the route, while elevated sections provide views towards the Mediterranean Sea. Each round includes a GPS-equipped golf buggy.

Course Details

Cabell Robinson designed PGA National, Aphrodite Hills to offer an enjoyable yet strategic round for golfers of all levels.

Bermuda-grass fairways follow the natural shape of the land. Carefully positioned bunkers and large tiered greens reward sound course management and accurate approach play. Two water hazards feature on the course, affecting the 10th and 18th holes.

The changes in elevation and movement between the two plateaux give the layout a distinct character. Golfers face a mixture of open views, shaped fairways and demanding carries throughout the round.

Course Highlights

The seventh hole provides the course’s best-known challenge. Golfers must play across a 130-metre gorge before continuing towards the green.

Mediterranean views feature throughout the course, with the surrounding olive trees, carob trees and natural terrain forming an important part of the design.

Wide views from the elevated ground contrast with the strategic demands created by bunkers, tiered greens, water and changes in level. The course provides enough variety to test experienced golfers while offering a manageable round for less experienced players.

Practice Facilities

The PGA National Academy at Aphrodite Hills Resort provides extensive training and coaching facilities for beginners, juniors, groups, amateurs and experienced golfers.

The double-ended practice range extends to 350 metres. TrackMan Range provides 28 practice bays and 15 screens, while natural-grass tees support outdoor practice.

Two indoor coaching studios feature TrackMan 4 technology. Golfers also have access to SAM PuttLab, Platform Golf putting analysis, indoor screen practice and outdoor ball-flight tracking.

Short-game facilities include a large pitching and chipping green, a dedicated short-game area and grass practice tees. A separate six-hole PGA National Academy Course supports lessons, family sessions and playing practice.

Two resident PGA-qualified instructors provide coaching in English. Custom fitting and golf club repair services are also available through the Academy Golf Shop.

Clubhouse & Facilities

The clubhouse at PGA National, Aphrodite Hills has comfortable changing rooms, a bar and a restaurant. The Golf Clubhouse Restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, salads, pasta, sandwiches, sushi, Mediterranean dishes and grilled meals throughout the day.

The Starter Hut opens daily from 07:00 to 17:00. Golfers will find breakfast buns, wraps, salads, sandwiches, coffee and cold drinks before or during their round.

The pro shop stocks equipment, clothing, footwear, golf bags and accessories from brands including Titleist, Cobra, Callaway, FootJoy and Srixon. Staff assist with equipment fitting, special orders, hire requirements and tee-time enquiries.

Golf clubs and shoes are available to hire. Soft spikes are required on the course. Membership options are available for Cyprus residents and Aphrodite Hills property owners.

PGA National, Aphrodite Hills is located within Aphrodite Hills Resort in Cyprus. The course sits above the Mediterranean coastline, close to the area traditionally associated with Aphrodite’s birthplace.
